How does Internet Explorer 7 work with Cascading Style Sheets
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) does not fully support Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Why the call for standards in browserworld again did not reach the producer of the world most used browser?
Since the release of the Cascading Style Sheets in 1997, Internet Explorer and CSS have had many problems working together. Many bugs that implemented the software as Microsoft set forth minor patches to rectify the problems. This is very crucial when the CSS is made for internet Web pages one of the key back bones for many international web sites. In addition, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer is a web browser that allows you to open up such sites and interface with the web pages on the site. Since CSS release Microsoft had not taken it seriously at all, it did not like the idea of another script language and did not really want to support the idea of software. But then again Micro soft still owned over 60 % of the internet software throughout the world and as a major developer finally gave in to support the software of CSS by standards given by the W3C. In this column, I will examine the beta testing of Internet Explorer 7 and the version of the Cascading Style Sheets Version 2.0 what did work with the new Internet browser, and exactly what did not.
So what CSS did not work with the release of IE7?
Well as we read many blogs and what the Microsoft themselves reporting the many errors of the IE7 we see that there are many clients ticked with the new development of the Internet Explorer browser. However, really we should also implement that the New IE 7 was built on the Trident framework to be hacker proof, unlike its predecessors it became just that, implementing many key points as to be that of a failsafe system while surfing the web for the users. Cascading Style System 2.0 already had many bugs in its framework as stated before, these bugs were treated as best as possible by the new IE 7 but then again the CSS framework could not support the new IE 7 Trident software, which was, meant for new Microsoft software operation systems. We see that many of the old bugs remained in the CSS when implemented with IE 7 that never changed, simply because the IE7 software was not compatible to the CSS framework as everyone previously thought.
CSS has to change their framework bases and work out the many bugs they already have in the system, to bring it up to the new hacker and antivirus software Internet Browser engine Trident. When we see the beta testing on the new IE 7 we see they could only implement a few changes on two bugs that the software had. Although in previous IE software Internet Platforms these bugs were always there, and Microsoft gave updates to, as they tried to route through the problems. Now as stated, that IE 7 when released will not support CSS 2.0 version this panicked many webmasters and web programmers that used CSS 2.0. Nevertheless, it stands for many reasons that Microsoft has created a program that is not for older software.
What did work with CSS and IE7?
Well IE 7 did manage to fix two bugs in the original CSS version 2.0, and it added some features like Tabs and anti phishing tools. Nevertheless, not really anything else for IE 7 said and stated that CSS must improve their software, and meet Microsoft’s standards, in order for CSS to be able to be compatible with the New IE 7 and later versions to come. Why was this you may ask, well its simple Microsoft is building and simply launching new development software’s to undermine and compete against the Web browser competitions. It is simply a company, which has to get up to the software race. As it improves many of its software areas, web servers are just a few of the tasks. CSS in order to compete and be compliant must come to the standards of the internet browsers, outsourcing web browsers do not hold 60% of the audience that Microsoft does, therefore for older versions of software to meet and yet comply with new software is to meet the demand of a changing trend in software development.
Over All Revue of CSS and IE 7 with upcoming software CSS 3.0 and IE 8
So as we can see that Microsoft will not support CSS version 2.0 and has very little to do with CSS version 2.1, but will help them implement certain patch frames so that they can have IE7 users be able to view and work along with their web sites is very crucial to the software giant of Microsoft. In the upcoming projects of the CSS 3 and the over look of the new IE 8 what will happen will these two software’s be able to finally have majority of the bugs worked out, only time will tell if they be finally compatible. But in for the best interests of CSS and Microsoft alongside with many other programs still operating the older versions of IE they would be better to try and work alongside Microsoft. So if you’re having problems with CSS 2.0 with IE 7 you should at least upgrade your software to CSS version 2.1 at least it is patched and a supported a little better then the original version of CSS 2.0 by the full upgrade of IE 7 users.
